The Island of Siquijor, or Isla del Fuego (‘the Island of Fire’) has long been fabled as a place of dark intrigue and mysticism. For centuries it has been deeply connected to ancient tradition and Don Papa Gayuma pays tribute to these traditions of old.
Don Papa Gauyma is crafted from 100% Negros sugarcane molasses and aged in the volcanic climate of Mount Kanlaon. After maturing in ex-bourbon casks, it’s double finished in ex-Rioja and Islay whisky barrels, creating a dark amber rum with smoky, peaty notes, hints of vanilla, orange peel, cacao, and cloves, all leading to a bold, spiced finish.
